First Post

Hello everyone!

I've been asked by a few people if we were going to start a blog like we had for Will, and I finally got around to doing it. I decided not to use the Carepages or the Caring Bridge website because I like the flexibility of Blogger better. I like the idea of being able to put pictures with each update, and I wasn't able to do that as well with Will's site.

I guess I'll just summarize what's happened so far.

On July 16, I went to Methodist Hospital hoping that I wasn't in preterm labor. But I was. I think I've officially been diagnosed with an incompetent cervix, and that was the same issue we had with Will. I was only 21 weeks at the time, and the doctors were able to push the amniotic sac back in and stitch it up. I went home on bedrest for about two weeks, and we were hoping that the stitch would do the trick, but when we had a follow up appointment, it looked like everything had pushed through again. Since August 8, I have been on strict bedrest trying not to have this kid.

Last night, they took out the catheter so I have some bathroom priveledges right now. The ultrasound yesterday showed the baby to be about 2 lbs 6 oz, and we'll hit 28 weeks on Monday! Everyone is counting down to that day now, and the staff up here couldn't be happier that I'm still pregnant.

Not much to tell today... hopefully there won't be much to say! Thanks for checking in!
